Clears everything and formats storage (partitions)

It's the same as a usb flash drive. Erasing is something other than formatting.

I have the same problem because I sell my Mi 11 pro. Does I have to sign out of my mi account and my Google account before wipe ?

Yes.
1 - Log out of your Mi account
2 - Sign out of your Google Account
3 - Factory reset in Mi recovery (wipe data).

Thank for the fast answer. I will do it later. But if I log out of mi account and sign out of my Google account, does the new user need for the first use my Google account ?
Because I read that somewhere other :/

Maybe you read it wrong.
You need to log out of your account so that the new owner does not need your login data.

If you follow my instructions, the phone will be for the new owner as if he were new.

It doesn't work, I now tried it several times.

Why do you use TWRP when it doesn't work with android 12?
If you have logged off accounts from your phone, reinstall the ROM using the script windows_fastboot_first_install_with_data_format.bat

I don't have Android 12, I have Android 11. If I go in recovery than the pic with Chinese words is opening. Than I choose the left button and reach the main menu.

Okay I find my mistake, I don't wrote the password on first picture. But thank you for your help :)

Hello
I have the MI 11 Pro,
But I have an issue with factory reset.
I selected Factory reset in MIUI, and TWRP started. I did also WIPE to be sure after TWRP finished.

But when I started after reboot, I had to enter my PIN. Then I had to reinstall MIUI 14.
I also realized, that my data like photos etc. were still on the phone.

What can I do?

I selected "factory reset" when I was inside TWRP in the section "WIPE".
But did only delete MIUI 14 settings. Nothing else.

Now I realized, I also had to select in WIPE "format data" = YES. Factory select did not work.
Now it is okay.
