New Force GPU impossible in 2.8.17

Hi all. I have a HTC Desires and just installed this update 2.8.17.
I have noticed that when I try to activate the option "Foce GPU rendering", keeps it as disabled. Anyone else with him? is this normal behavior?

I tried to activate it myself (see paste below), but it doesn't seem to work

video.accelerate.hw=1

GB ...I didn't try it on the first ics-version, but it didn't work on the other ones.

We all know what hw acceleration can do for a device, so it would be great if this funktion could be turned on!

Edit: btw, I'm on 2.8.31 for Desire S, yesterday's version was a downer
