Formating partition 2

Hello,

Recently I installed the CWM recovery on my Mi4, I know that there are 2 system partitions on xiaomi devices.
But I read somewhere (I'm not sure) that it's not recommended to format one of these system partition.

That's why I'm asking if it's safe to format the partition 2 (with MIUI installed on partition 1)? Will I lost something if I do it?

I used to format it all the time, it won't affect you at all.

Yes I did it recently and no problem ^^
I installed android 5.0 by ivan on the second system partition.

Yes there is one on XDA, it's for Mi3 but I guess it works with Mi4 too : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-3/general/howto-resize-extend-partition-capacity-t3011918
