Headset volume too low and does not insrease after 50% of the volume setting

Hi, I've been using v. 1.10.28 from this site for several days now and have noticed that the music volume in PowerAmp is significantly lower than it was on the stock ROM. When I try to increase it, it only makes a difference within the first half or less of the settings range, after that the volume just remains the same.

I assume it is a known issue, but still can't find a working solution. Any ideas?

Please don't suggest Volume+ or similar applications because PowerAmp already does what they do.
