Hello, I just bought a Hongmi Note 2 LTE (the 32 GB China Unicom variant), and for some reason, the only "Preferred Network Type" option I see, despite having a Unicom 4G plan, is listed as "2G only (saves battery)". I was using a different 4G phone on this same plan (an international Samsung Note2 LTE), able to access 3G and 4G with no problems. The data connection icon in the notification bar is listed as "E". Any ideas/suggestions/explanations?

Change to 4G/LTE o 3G doesn't work?

Nope, as I said, the only option listed is for 2G (battery saving). I'm on a 4g carrier, but nothing else is listed.

for some xiaomi model often only set for use on china only, usually those with TD-SCDMA model..
you only got 2G when you use operator outside china.
try to find xiaomi device with WCDMA model... it can be use worldwide...
also there's TDD-LTE and FDD-LTE, both of them are using different method and bands..

by the way.. this forum is for Redmi 2, right ? :D
