How can I make Gmail notification vibrate ONLY?

I did search for this to see if anyone else had already answered this but I could not find an answer.

Currently, I get notified by ringtone whenever I get a new email. I want the notification to show up in the status bar, but I don't want a sound notification. I would like it to vibrate, or be silent, but still show the email icon in the status bar indicating a new message. I just don't want any sound notification.

This would be a feature request for gmail, as it abides to the global setting in Settings -> Sound Settings.

So if you have vibrate on for notifications and disable sounds, it will do it.

I'm saying you can change your overall settings as gmail pulls from the global sound settings, but otherwise its not a specific option as far as I know. Send a feature request to gmail through their support avenues and hope for an update.
