how to flash TWRP on Mi9 transparent

Hi,
ive unlocked the bootloader; however any attempt at flashing TWRP keeps giving me no device found and the miunlock tool also doesnt now find the device;
am I missing something?
im trying to do this with a virtual machine windows 10 on mac.

Can you provide step by step installation process?

I have a MAC and I'm having a hard time. Got to fastboot, device listed and it appears that it transfer the file but when reboot it goes to the Xiaomi Recovery..
