One quick question to be sure:
I am now running MIUI 13.0.13 Stable + TWRP SKKK 3.6.2 v5.1 A12... and I would like to upgrade to MIUI 14 stable for my Mi 11 Ultra.
I have seen the correct procedure to do, but at this point I am wondering:
can I first do the TWRP update with the "Install Recovery Ramdisk" command and then flash MIUI 14?
In other words, is the newer TWRP for the phone ("twrp-3.7.0_12-v7.0_A13-star-skk.img") backwards compatible with the MIUI 13 I have now on the phone?

No need to update TWRP.
You can update the ROM in TWRP that you have now on your device. At the same time you update your ROM, you will also get TWRP updated
