On MIUI 14 there is a workaround to use 3rd party launcher with gestures and without buttons. You need a gesture app and use the second profile to switch the gesture mode on. If you change to the main profile, there are no buttons. You just have to restart your gesture app and everything works more or less fine. It is not pretty, but it works for me, as my icon pack is not compatible with MIUI launcher.
