I use mi5 with fingerprint unlock and password. When i launch twrp rom it doesn't ask me for a password. I can see /data and its content.
In the logs of twrp, i saw something as 'using default password to unlock'.
I'm confused.

It should be already encrypted.
If i go in twrp, no password was asked

I am also looking for twpr with capacity of password set-up. It makes the phone more safer with installed twpr on it.

twrp-3.0.2-0-gemini.img launched via fastboot doesn't ask me for a password, but i can browse /data partition

This is off topic. I'm asking why TWRP doesn't ask me for a password and why /data partition is visible by it. Phone should be encrypted

Yup/
Just went through TWPR for that reason - no need to get it encrypted or password - still able to flash other supported version and mount to Data
