New K30 5G 12.0.6.0 Double entry in keyboard

I have two different units of Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition. I installed the newest 12.0.6.0 and noticed that typing at the sides sometimes resulted in a double letter entry. I use the Dvorak layout, and sometimes tapping the letter "a" yields two letters on the text box. This happens in both Gboard and Microsoft Swiftkey, and in both units.

12.0.5.0 did not have this issue. Is this a bug from the original CN ROM? Changing the refresh rate does not have any effect. I have wiped cache and Dalvik on both units, and still the problem persists.

Confirmation that Xiaomi botched their 12.0.6.0 update.

Since the next update isn't until after the end of the current holiday, I'll have to wait and use another phone in the meantime.

Hope it helps anyone else that has this problem.
