New Mi 11 - issues with selection of URL in address bar

Mi 11 miui 12.5 &12.2 exhibit the following issue in the edge browser within incognito
- selection of URL by holding cases a black bar without the cut copy paste options
- this bar remains for all tabs
- only option is to close and reopen the app
