My wife had to reset her phone wipe all her data and now her phone is locked to a number that is no longer working. We can't unlock it or switch it to a new number because she also forgot her password for the account. The phone in question is a Redmi 7A. Most of the security question they ask to move the account to a different number and unanswerable because we bought the phone in Serbia and it only allows us to pick 5 countries and 3 of them are Chinese. Any advice on what to do in this situation is appreciated.

No one here will be able to help you. You should contact Xiaomi directly and hope they can help you somehow.
