Hi Guys

I am trying to help my grandma who is sick and have difficulty moving around, I want to do so the light automatically turns on and off in the hallways in her home. And I believe that Xiaomi Mi Home is the correct solution, but I need some advice so I purchase the correct item and I hope you can help So far I have believe I have to buy a Xiaomi Gateway, socket and body sensor for each hallway, isn't that correct? And can that be configured in EU with the app? And am I correct if I say that the light bulbs does not work in EU?

I have Xiaomi bulbs everywhere in my house, both the colors and only white. They work perfectly and since I bought them, 2 years ago, all of them is still alive they can be configured in many ways in interaction with other mi smart devices. But yes with body sensors and gateway you will have many options. Using mi home app on phone will eliminate need for gateway or body sensors.

Thanks for your quick reply mate I need to work so she won't have to use the app, hence the body sensor ;-) but I wan't to be sure I can connect it all in EU.. I was thinking buying the cube when see needs to turn it on manually, do you know if this would work?

It certainly will but again together with gateway. I don't have one but actually I am gonna order one, it's really cute and funny

Do you use the Gateway in your house? yes it is a brilliant idea! ;-) do you have to pay custom where you order from?

I'm ordering from AliExpress and actually I have never paid custom duty as I always ask seller to write 10$ value on custom declaration. I'm also sure you can find xiaomi gadgets on eBay from EU stock.
