Mi Max 3. Cannot root!

Greetings.

Mi Max 3 came unlocked from vendor.
I have flashed MIUI 8.9.20 using TWRP.
No issues so far. Everything seems to work just fine.

I flashed Magisk 17.2 with TWRP.
Root Checker tells me that 'Root access is not properly installed on this device'

Uninstalled Magisk and reflashed MIUI 8.9.20 to start off clean.

I then flashed SuperSU with TWRP.
Root Checker tells me the same thing!
I've tried a couple of Root Checker apps. All checks are negative.

Uninstalled SuperSU and reflashed MIUI 8.9.20 for a clean start!

Why can't i root the phone?
Am i missing something!

After flashing Magisk, you try to download "Boot animation" from Google play and then try install a new boot animation. If it ask you to accept SU permission, that your phone rooted. Because Root checker told me the same thing.

Maybe you need to flash China fastboot rom first with MiFlash (check 'clean all' bottom right corner) and from there flash Xiaomi.eu and root. I think it's not a good idea to flash Xiaomi.eu directly over a fake rom.

Try 17.1 Magisk as mentioned above.

Works for me on 10.11.15 Xiaomi.EU

Do you still have root access after a reboot? Mine stops working, also Magisk Manager gets duplicated and stops working.

Please Update your Magisk Manager v. 6.0.1. after that flash Magisk 17.1

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 MIUI 10.0.6.0 al instalar Magisk por TWRP se queda pillado y reinicia en recoveri......tengo que instalar otra vez la rom sin root y me inicia pero vuelvo a instalar Magisk y me hace otra vez lo mismo.....AYUDA por favor.
