Mi8 gps suddenly stopped

I had my GPS all good and fixed, using the GPS. Conf, I put it onto system etc and all was good.
Yesterday as I was using waze, my GPS suddenly wouldn't lock and now I have no satellites visible at all.
GPS conf is still where it should be and I haven't changed anything it just suddenly stopped after a week of being spot on.

Twrp won't mount to pc so I use the file manager in twrp to put it into system etc and chmod to 0644

Any ideas please?

I have the same issue than you, and nobody seems to have a solution. It's a lillte bit disapointing !

Odd thing I did nothing to cause it to break, no app install or update or anything.

At the back of my mind I fear the GPS chip may have failed, a hardware issue, if that's the case, a repair is going to be pretty much impossible.

I've tried several GPS.conf files and nothing.

Same issue, GPS suddenly stopped. I tried all solutions including the one referred to Turkish forum. I hope it is not a hardware failure, sending my phone back to banggood for repair would be a hassle.

edit: with 8.8.24 it works again, hope it now stays working
