[Mi8] Unlocked Bootloader Message - How to enter Bootloader?

Hi Guys,

I unlocked a Mi8 today, installed the TWRP linked here in the Forum, booted on it and tried to install the Stable ROM after wiping. Somehow the installation was not successful as it appears. Now I get on every booting the notification message attached. So far so bad but do you maybe know how am I entering with this the Bootloader or Fastboot? Whenever I press Power and Volume Up I get this message and Volume down only the battery Symbol (second Picture).

Okay after some trying I figured out wha to do. The Battery symbol is basically the bootloader. So I simply flashed another TWRP over it and then I was able to finally install the image. Nevertheless - if someone knows how to directly enter the Bootloader - I think that's still a good information.

Hi, I get the same warning message every time I turn on the Mi8. The battery symbol is shown to me whenever it goes into fastboot mode. Any solution to remove that warning message?

How did you flash the twrp? i can't do it using fastboot flash recovery twrp.img, what did you use?

I unlocked the bootloader, I installed the ADB drivers on windows, I went into fastboot mode on Mi8, I checked that mi8 was connected in fastboot mode from the command line and then I used "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img". In conclusion I used fastboot boot twrp.img".

I have the phone with the baterry logo and when i check fastboot devices I don't get any device. What drivers did you installed?

I followed a guide on the grossoshop Italy website where they explain how to install the xiaomi.eu rom starting from a Chinese version. There everything is explained in every single step and is included of all the links (obviously also the drivers)

this happened to me too, I have solved this way:
I noticed that with the battery icon display in the MI8 and connecting flash me, I detected the device, and I sent with flash this rom: dipper_global_images_V9.5.13.0.OEAMIFA_20180714.0000.00_8.1_global \ images
and from there he restored the traditional fastboot,.
then I installed the twrp dipper 3.2.3, and then from there everything else, now my MI 8 is working 100%.

Where did you get the global rom from please? (some reliable source). I've found something on https://xiaomifirmware.com/roms/download-official-miui-roms-for-xiaomi-mi8-dipper/ Fastboot
Would you be so kind and describe step by step how did you proceed? What commands to use to get there?

I have tested it, it does work .... BUT only if the official global Rom is flashed,
if you flash the xiaomi.eu rom again, the ugly screen is back.
I think the reason is, that xiaomi.eu is based on china-dev rom and not global rom,
the china-dev rom has an other fastboot image.

How To:

- download Global Rom for Mi8

- download Mi Flash Tool

- extract the tgz rom file (Winrar)

- install Mi Flash Tool



- start Mi-Flash Tool

and choose on top the extracted ROM dir

(C:\XiaoMi\dipper_global_images_V9.5.13.0.OEAMIFA_20180714.0000.00_8.1_global)

- click refresh

- at bottom choose: "clean all"

- put your Mi8 into fastboot mode (Power + Volume Down) (Battery symbol)

- click refresh and flash ...wait 10min till finished


When finished enter fastboot mode again , flash TWRP again...


Done !

Yes, I managed to do that. Problem is that with Global ROM neither Face Unlock nor Google pay work

yeah, thats the problem with the global rom when the bootloader is unlocked.
so flash xiaomi.eu rom, all is working.
maybe the ugly screens gets removed in future...

I think just the devs from xiaomi.eu can fix it,

they have to change the fastboot image in the eu rom. (or a splashscreen)

I see you're using OP6_N6_GoogleCamera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8.2 I tried to use it but video is not working. Is it for you?

i think that i can solved it this problem, i dont tried it.. so if you can flash chinesse rom, lock bootloader,after unlock bootloader( wait 15+ days) for unlock and flash iaomi.eu rom maybe solved this problem.i think that chineese guys has weird way unlock bootloader

Is the CN version of the LR Team? Is it more up-to-date than bassbounce?
