New MIUI 10, Note 2, android wear not found

I cant connect my Fossil Explorist android wear watch to my Note 2 running 8.6.21 v2.
The Android wear wizard won`t find the watch, so it does not continue the setup. When I try to set it up on other phones running MIUI 9 or Stock android the watch is found immediately. Only on MIUI 10 it is not found. I can find and connect it directly in the bluetooth settings, but after that the Android wear app still does not find the watch.
I found one user with the same problem on the google support forums, but no solution either.

Anyone a good idea that I can try?

Edit: (Android wear has all permissions granted, including auto startup)

I found a solution myself, and will share it if someone has the same problem:

Download the oldest wear 2.0 apk from apk mirror or try a few old ones, these will see your watcht. Connect it, and end the wizard, then update through the appstore.
