New No Camera Zoom On Xiaomi Mi Note 3

Yesterday I have installed the awesome Eu rom! I'm really happy about it!
Today when I tried to take a picture I discovered that there was no optical zoom! It worked after a few seconds.
only when I was using portrait mode the second camera was used! Is this a MIUI or a EU rom bug?

Would like to fix it!

Mi Note 3, MIUI 9.6 by xiaomi.eu 8.3.22 Beta, bootloader officially unlocked, rooted with Magisk: no such problem, the camera works just fine!

I think it is not so easy to know how the camera software decides to use the two lenses.

There is a "manual mode" where you can choose which lens is used.

2 jobs:

Taking the subject in portrait mode
2x lossless optical zoom (above that is combined with digital zoom up to 10x)

If you do lens cover test, use manual mode. In auto mode, the camera app may prefer using the wide lens if available light is insufficient (small pixel + dark aperture is a no no for low light).

So there is no possibility to use the tele camera with video or in auto photo mode?
