Notchification-Patch

Hey guys, i am searching for the possibility to enable the notifications in Notch-devices like my Mi8 Lite.
As i read there are patches to enable this behaviour (https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/real-notifications-on-statusbar.46815/), but i was thinking that these are already built in in the xiaomi.eu-ROM. Am i wrong and have to patch myself?

As far as I know these patches don't work with Android 9/pie and they didn't find a solution yet.
