Phone boots up to lock screen then reboots

I've been having some trouble with my desire running miui au 2.1.10, it has just booted up and then sits at the lock screen for a few seconds then goes back to the booting up screen and repeats. Sometimes i get lucky and it doesnt reboot but then after about a day the screen will turn off and wont turn back on, then when i reboot it wont get past lock screen. I've tried completely wiping and reinstalling the rom as well as installing an ics rom, which didnt help. Any ideas as to whats going on? one more thing, the other day my phone may have gotten wet in the rain but all the hardware seems to be working
