Redmi 4 Won't Flash In Edl Mode

Hey guys, I have a weird problem. My Redmi 4 has an unofficial ROM and I want to flash official chinese ROM without unlocking the phone. I get the phone into edl mode successfully and when I try to flash ROM I get an error that cannot read port xx. I have tried everything under the sun unsuccessfully, like trying different versions of XiaoMiFlash and even BETA without any success. I don't know if it makes any difference but the phone's production date is 02/2017. Has anyone encountered that problem and solved it?

False alarm folks. I got fooled by the name of the model. I was trying to flash the 32Gb model (prime - santoni) with the 16Gb model ROM (prada). Unfortunately there is no distinction on the package. All worked fine in edl mode once I picked the right ROM.
