Redmi Note 2 And Gps Issue

Since several days I have a problem with gps of my Redmi Notes 2, that does not hook the signal and the "GPS test" app reported problems with the "proximity sensor"(malfunctioning) and GPS (fail test).
Then I tried to install with TWRP 2.8.7 the 6.3.24 rom before, then the 6.3.31 downloaded from your site, but not only did I have solved the problem to gps (that now I think it's hardware) but I also have another annoying bug: if I install any app don't appear the link on the display until I restart the phone.
How do you think can solve? And if it is also a hardware problem, where can I send my cell?

This may be a HW problem.... but did you try an absolute clean installation ? If I would be in your situation, I would do first a TWRP backup and after this a factory reset /full wipe. And then a new, clean installation to try out if GPS is ok on "naked" rom. It is only my personal opinion what I would try next. I have no experience in any GPS problems of RN2 - so this might be nonsens....

7.2.2.0 ROM issue, a known bug...one of many in that rom. Xiaomi are rolling out 7.2.3.0...just received my OTA update today, hope it will solve the GPS, BT and 4G issue...will test it out tomorrow...12km walk.

As I understood, @rachiet has the GPS problems with 6.3.24 and 6.3.31, not with stable 7.2.2.0.
Sure, this is a known bug in this weekly roms, too ?
 
Thx..I've tried both...and no solve my problems....
I hope to find a technical laboratory where to send the phone....certainly it have hardware problems! :(
 
I tried both new ROM's, from Xiami.com and Xiami.eu, both have the same problem...and if the problem is in the .com version it's also in the .eu version...i been told that the .eu are made from the .com ROM...
But right now my phone are on 7.2.3.0...but bad weather made me play WOT instead of testing BT and GPS..:)

3 days of test...7.2.3.0 same GPS problem...:mad:, walked 11.7km, 1H32m, GPS only logged (when screen was on) 335m...Bluetooth dropped out 2-3 times during the walks...1/2 year anniversary and my phone did not work 100% for a day...MI FIT...MI band 1s...Redmi note 2 prime useless...it's not a smart-phone...only a phone...

Redmi Note 2 is a smartphone, not a tool to monitor physical activity
 
I have been using my "smartphone" for the last 4.5 year's to monitoring and help me with my training and logging, both strength and aerobic...but....once again...
LOL Stefano the defender, too the rescue of Xiaomi... Define a smart-phone...so you don't use you phone as a gps.device in you car???? I do, but need the GPS to work... You don't listen to music or see video on you phone...but i use a BT headset, so i need the bluetooth to work... Do you know what a MI band, MI band 1s, Mi scale is....LOL it's devices to monitor you physical activity, steps, sleep and HR, weight, but it need a working phone with bluetooth to work...LOL just to funny..."Redmi Note 2 is a smartphone, not a tool to monitor physical activity" you wrote... yes it is..if you ask Xiaomi...
Stefano the great defender of please " do a reinstall and clear mem....". Stefano have you ever had another smartphone...which need constant, reinstall and clear of delvig...I haven't...And i owned a HTC(super bad usbport), Sony, Samsung, Lenovo, Motorola...never see problems like the ones I have on my Xiaomi...every update brings new problems...
And if the GPS and the Bluetooth do not work, it's just a normal phone to me...

If you want your app to not lose GPS signal while screen is off, go to

Settings\Additional Settings\Battery & performance\Manage apps' battery use\Choose apps\<Your app, e.g. Runtastic>

and pick Allowed in the Background Location section.

For the first time in a very long and hard period of time, my GPS loggin started to work again, both in Endomomdo and Google FIT, thanks to IvanV The Great, even the MI band 1S is working on bluetooth...and only one drop out on the bluetooth headset...
Seems that Xiaomi nerfed the settings a little to hard, to give better battery performance...but on behalf of the smartphone function, like bluetooth and GPS connections...

For the first time in a very long and hard period of time, my GPS loggin started to work again, both in Endomomdo and Google FIT, thanks to IvanV The Great, even the MI band 1S is working on bluetooth...and only one drop out on the bluetooth headset...
Seems that Xiaomi nerfed the settings a little to hard, to give better battery performance...but on behalf of the smartphone function, like bluetooth and GPS connections...

How ever 2 hours of GPS logging and bluetooth headset use, 32% of battery drained..but it's a choice between working-out-smart and charge phone more...or not..I prefer smart...

LOL how ever...after the MI FIT update to version 2...the MI Band 1s...started too get bluetooth connection problems again...but the GPS are still working...but eating the battery fast...

Did you try P37 modem? I solved my BT problem with this...

Hallo Michael_K..

Sry for the slow answer...

Nope didn't try the P37...my phone is all original and not rooted, so not a possibility...I'm started to get enough of this phone..it worked close to very well for 3 days until the MI FIT 2 update...so now I'm wondering "is it a problem with the log-in to the mi-account as well, a time out perhaps...but right now the GPS is working, after i set the permission to always for my APK...
The Mi Band 1s are still having big problems with HR...after the update to MI Fit 2...
