Redmi Note 4 Or Redmi Note 4x

Hi guys,

this is my first thread here, so first of all hello to everybody.
I have a Redmi Note 2 at the moment and i want to buy a new Redmi. But i am really unsure which one to buy.

Redmi Note 4 with MTK or the Redmi Note 4x SD???

I love the design of the MTK version, the full metal body and the matte black colour.
But i am afraid of the battery...

On the other hand there is the new Redmi Note 4x SD very impressive screen on time but i hate the design with the plastic caps.

Can you help me to chose between them?

The battery is really not the best in redmi note 4 mtk... Hardly get 5 hours of screen on time with 2 days standby... The mi max with a snapdragon 650 get 10 hours with with only 750 mAh more battery and a larger screen... Think the snapdragon 625 is the better choice. There is also a better custom rom support for qualcomm devices like lineage OS.

If you value battery life, buy Redmi Note 4X. It also has B20 support if you buy the Taiwanese variant.

Is it possible to come through the day with the MTK Version with normal use? i listen to Spotify for an hour and the rest is a lil bit eMail, forums, reading news, WhatsApp and maybe 10-15 mins per day calls. So no heavy use. I never play games etc. My day starts in the morning at 6am and ends in the evening around 22pm

Yes this is no problem. The phone have a good battery life. But for a 4100 mAh battery the phone do not handle efficent with the its battery.

You can easily hit one day without any limitations.
Around +5hrs sot is something possible to achieve on the latest xiaomi eu rom. The experience is buttery smooth. In fact, the capacity of battery points that it should get more SOT but in my opinion it is acceptable.
Morover, if I would have to choose now I would choose the 4X version. Snapdragon seems more economical for battery and also B20 support, better to have it than not. Cheers

Even with a battery pack I can barely get through the day. I need usage time more than i need the extra computing power.

Hi there,

I'm using the RN4 mtk and my best SoT to this point is 8 hours on a 1 day and 15 hours span, battery going from 100% to 0%. 3G data switched on all the time. I used the phone for web browsing / social media and 1 hour phone calls and no gaming, so you should have no problems to get through the day without charging till the nighttime.

The main battery usage is in standby mode, i mean for a 3 days usage between the chargings i would get somewhere around 3-4 hours SoT at best.

Well good for you, i would also prefer the Snapdragon chipset, but i got my RN4 as a warranty replacement for my previous RN3 mtk whose audio jack beacame faulty after 15 months of usage, so i can't complain.

RN4X is better than RN4 . I have RN4 and RN4X too . Battery life its double on RN4X , better conection and better ram management . I not feel diference on normal usage ( speed or lag, phone call quality , display etc)
