Redmi Note 5 To start Android enter your password?

Hi everyone.

I already searched the forum but no real answers.

My phone battery died so I put it on charger and restarted it and it says

To start Android, enter your password.

The pin code I usually unlock the screensaver with doesn't work.

I have set no other password.

It says I only have a few attempts left and I would rather not restore the phone if there's any way around it as I haven't got backup of all data, etc.

Does anybody know how to get past this please?
