Step-by-step Guide To Flashing?

Hi, this is my first android phone, i picked up a Redmi Note 4x, SD 625 version.

I have been told that the xiaomi.eu ROM would probably be best with me living in the UK and it getting rid of all the Chinese bloatwear.

I have some past experience with ROM's, but not with android.

I have permission to unlock the phone's bootloader, but when it comes to installing TWRP, ADB or the actual MIUI9 ROM i haven't got a clue what to do.

so I'm asking is there a simple step by step guide available?

I'd really appreciate the help.
