This device is locked

Hi all

I really need some help with this one.
I have been messing around in TWRP and I have reset my phone to factory settings VIA TWRP.

Now I am met with the screen that my device is locked to a MI account,
so I Input my email and password then when it comes to account authentication I cannot get past this despite using the code that was sent to my email to use.

Although my phone is now locked / factory restored, I can still access TWRP and fastboot holding the power and volume buttons.

Can anyone advise or explain how badly I screwed up??
