Un-localised (en-GB) Digital Clock widget

I'm using the 2x4 Digital Clock widget with the English (United Kingdom) locale however the date is still displaying as <Day Name> <Month Number>-<Day Number>, e.g. FRI 9-16 rather than <Day Name> <Day Number> <Month Number>, e.g. "FRI 16-9"

I'd expect the UK locale date format to be DD-MM (and DD-MM-YYYY) so am wondering why this isn't applicable at the widget level.

Any ideas?

Agreed, no use when it's "backwards"! Would like to see this fixed.
