I've been banging my head the last days, using all possible way to unlock without success. Is it now almost impossible in 2025 ?
It is impossible to unlock using the Xiaomi Community V5.4.14 (the latest as of 2025.02.11), regardless if I tried at many moment within the window of -30 Sec and +30 sec around 00:00 Beijing time. It seems some bots are robbing quota from users.
I've tried the last 5 days
- Day 1: 3 hours after 00h00, failed
- Day 2: 8 min after 00h00, failed
- Day 3: started at around the 50th second of 00h00, the community app responded slowly, then it responded at around 00h01:05, giving me the error message above.
- Day 4: tried to click the Unlock Bootloader any time between 23:59:00 and 00:00:59. Failed. During this time the app is laggy, sometimes I need to wait 15 seconds until the button "Unlock the bootloader" appears again.
- Day 5: repeat, click at Exactly 00:00 Beijing time. Failed
What I have done:
- Mi account aged at least several months,
- Area in the app changed to Global
- Enabled Developer Option, Enabled USB Debugging, Enabled OEM Unlocking

I have received this error “The system is being upgraded. Please try again later” appears anytime I click on “Add account and device” inside Settings à Developer Options à Mi Unlock status
Error is: “There was an error during the installation procedure. Error description: Xiaomi procedure failed: [getServiceToken] Missing serviceToken cookie. Error family codexiaomi_exception. Error origin.com.xiaomitool.v2.procedure.install.FastbootInstall$4.run(Unknown Source)”
It says “Current version: 6.5.24.28. New version: 7.6.727.43”, however
- If I click onto the button to download the newest version, it says:
“Access to ultimateota.d.miui.com was denied. You don’t have authorization to view this page. HTTP ERROR 403”
- If I stay with version 6.5.24.28, and boot the phone into Fastboot, it says “Unlock with erase user data”, then “Unlock the phone will erase all phone data, whether to continue to unlock the phone?”, then “An unlocked device is an easy target for malware which may damage your device or cause financial loss”. Then it succeeds in verifying the device, but then stops at 99%, and displays a red X icon at the line of “Unlocking”. !!!!!!
- Original HyperOS 1.0.17.0.UNRMIXM, android version 14UKQ1.231003.002
- Sim inserted, wifi disabled

1) Failed attempts with Xiaomi Community App
