Unlocking Lte Bands

So, i found a thread a week ago, and the user who posted it claims to successfully unlock his Mi5 bands, using QPST and QXDM, the user said that "the method is very easy,only need change lte_bc_config value"

The thing is, i don't understand the process. The tutorial is not clear enough for me.

Someone knows an easier way to explain this method?

What band you need, some are not possible? (You can unlock software side, but frequencies are not actually working.)

I doubt that 700MHz works, because even 800MHz does not work.
