Update From Last Stable V8 To V9

I'm on the last V8 stable available, can i update via Updater or TWRP to the stable release of V9 without wiping data?

I'am in last weekly 7.7.20 (MIUI 8.6), can i update via Updater or TWRP to the stable release of V9 without wiping data? or should i stick to the weekly versions of v9?

I would suggest doing a fresh install from MIUI 8 to 9.

You can also try to update it through updater or TWRP but from weekly to stable is always considered as downgrading so wipe data is preferred.

Make a TWRP backup first from your boot, data and system partitions and if updating is making errors or bugs in system you can revert back to your backed up rom.

From weekly to weekly you can do the normal update but still I would suggest starting from fresh start with MIUI 9.
