I have bought a Xaomi Mi4S recently. So far I found it useless. if I am lucky, I can make a phone call or receive a call. I have left uncharged a few times, so that the battery is completely empty. After that, I restart and it works fine for a few days. Then I get some messages in Chinese, so that does not help a lot... From then on, it becomes very slow, heats up and drains the battery. After a full load, overnight, the battery is empty in 4 to 6 hours, while in standby mode, not a single action performed on the phone. It looks like some APP is draining performance and battery.
I did run some app to check battery, removed several app's but the problem remains.
Can someone give me a hint on how to solve this?

which rom are you using? maybe it is a fake one, my aunt's xiaomi mi4s has none of this problems. if you are using an original rom did you tried a factory reset?

Yesterday, I managed to do a factory reset. Then reconfigured from scratch. In the last 10 hours, battery consumption is 2% (standby), very acceptable. At this time, speed is ok. If it stays this way, I am very happy.
Before this reset, the phone was set for sync with Mi-Cloud and with Google. I think something locked up during this sync process. I guess the messages in Chinese characters were error reports from Mi-Cloud sync.
Now deactivated sync with Mi-Cloud and kept sync with Google.

Change rom instantly this is a fake One. Install Real xiaomi.eu rom

I am not sure if I want to do that. I bought a brand new phone, and apparently it is contaminated. If it does not work as expected, I will dump it and buy something else..
I am not a computer specialist, just a frustrated user.
It is easy said to change the rom. How do I do it? I read instructions like 'unlock bootloader', ask for a code. When asking I get some Chinese menu's..
I feel very very uneasy about this hole story.

You should install ROM Ver. 7.5.4, then erase the date (clean dalvik cache) and start again...

Mine gets hotter in v7.2.5, but with this one, doesn't happen again!

Test it!
