Very inaccurate GPS

Using google maps for navigation is completely unusable. GPS jumps from street to street. constantly thinking im driving on another parallel street...
on XDA forum it's a known issue, but no fix is found...

any ideas? Currently on 9.1.17 on chinese version.

Uninstall Google maps updates and turn off auto updates for Google maps.
If not System App and you can't Uninstall updates find out which gmaps version the global mi mix 3 was shipped with and manually install that. Then turn off auto updates.

On the mi 8 it was gmaps 9.85.2, installing that version from apk(check apkmirror) fixes it

Also check the compass calibration status in Google maps.

Is it repeatedly showing low accuracy and are you having trouble with the calibration routine?
