VoLTE / Region

The sound volume and clarity on my Mi Mix is very poor. My Canadian Telecom (Telus) recommended I enable VoLTE on my phone. However the setting for VoLTE is greyed out and says " VoLTE calls aren't supported on the mobile sim card". My Telecom tech support is telling me to simply change the Region to Canada and I will be able to enable that VoLTE setting. However, since these ROMS are based on the China ROMS I don't see any way to change the Region. I was hoping that enabling VoLTE might solve my poor phone call quality problem. Any suggestions?
