    acturally MI=mobile internet, Xiao in chinese means small, and "xiao mi"=millet in chinese; there's also another explanation that if you reverse the word "mi", you'll get "心" in chinese, which means heart.
    hong=red in chinese, and hongmi is designed as a sub-brand of xiaomi
