Where To Get English .xml Files For Translation?

Where to get the current "main" folder english files or can I just download these https://github.com/Acid-miuipolskapl/v6-XML-Compare and using the devices (like cancro) .xml files and translate those to the "main" folder?

Or is it fine if I download the apktool and decode one of the recent dev roms to get the most recent .apk files and then I get the english .xml files from there and start translating them?

I've been looking for English repo's for MIUI8, for use with jBART (I want to build an "unofficial" firmware based on latest China Stable 8.1 for Redmi Note 4), but the closest thing I can find is this - https://github.com/redmaner/MA-XML-CHECK-RESOURCES/blob/master/resources.xml - which only goes up to MIUI v5 :\
