Why do not we have default encryption on .eu roms?

I have seen several posts in the forum, but no answer as to why xiaomi.eu roms do not have encryption (FBE) enabled by default. Virtually all custom roms already work with the FBE by default, so I would like to know if there is any specific reason not to be active in .eu roms. I think the lack of encryption is a major problem in the use, because it makes the data of the cell vulnerable. I know we can encrypt manually by editing fstab, but it's not practical ...

Would anyone know how to answer why we do not have encryption by default? Are there plans for this in the future?

I do not need encryption, but I know some do because of company policy, and cannot use a phone for work without encryption.

1. Encryption generally makes the phone slower because it uses the soc to do it.
I.e., turn it off (format data) if you don't need it.

2. Some TWRPs cannot handle encryption, e.g. Mix1.
Some can, e.g. the new official TWRP for Mi Note 2 supposedly can.

In fact, total encryption actually causes a loss of performance, but as of Android 7, Google has adopted FBE (file-based encryption) by default. In this encryption, there is virtually no loss of performance, so much so that the official MIUI (global and Chinese) already have the FBE enabled by default .. Even most of the custom Rom from Android 7 have the active FBE by default, at least in Mi6 ...

If at least we had an option to enable encryption in the settings, it still would not be so bad, but the encryption option just does not work and still forces you a format date, otherwise you get stuck in a bootloop ..
