Wimax light notifier in 1.2.19 not working

Is there a way to get back the wimax light notifier in the new release? I am getting notifications with sms notifier light and I would prefer to use the wimax light. Does it have something to do with the new addition of wimax to the kernel? (Noob here so .....you know....be kind.

At least you get a light lol, I use handcent and now I don't get any notification lights with this update. It's quit annoying :/
