As far as I understand it, these kinds of app specific issues won't be addressed by the developers and you'll have to look for an alternative app or solution.

Especially since your device appears to be rooted as well.

Simply put, there are far too many strange and quirky ways app developers can make use of to detect root or an insecure environment (i.e unlocked bootloader) that is would be next to impossible for the developers to try and address them all. Not least of all because it's a cat and mouse game with every subsequent update and every single app (I had to quit using one of my banking applications called starling because of it)

If this app is essential to your day to day and none of the usual root concealing methods work then your likely only option would be to first unroot and see if that works and if that doesn't make use of a second phone or device or go back to stock.
