I'm newbie. After get the ROM, how to upgrade? thanks
You should talk about your previous situation:
  • If you are on Global ROM, you may have received MIUI 12 some weeks ago, and maybe you should stay on there, cause there are some "difficult" steps to complete the task. Besides, whyred has ARB protection and that's always an additonal risk.
  • If you are on xiaomi.eu weekly ROM, xiaomi.eu staff insists on flashing the ROM through TWRP and make a data wipe (this is called clean install). This process deletes all your apps/configs and takes your phone to a factory state (with the new ROM).
  • If you are on xiaomi.eu stable ROM, you may receive an OTA update, or you can flash it with TWRP, without wipes (this is called dirty flash).

In some countries, Redmi Note 5 was the same phone as Redmi 5 Plus, so it's an ambiguous name.
In those countires Redmi Note 5 Pro is "almost" the same phone as Redmi Note 5 Global Version (i think the only change is a SONY camera instead a Samsung one)

This ROM is for the Redmi Note 5 / Redmi Note 5 Pro which has a SnapDragon 636, and its codename is whyred.

But if you have these kind of doubts... you may have to read 3 posts above.

it's good to see that the device received this update, but it stopped on android 9 so, at the moment, I'm testing port roms with android 10 and analyzing testing android 11 port. the ports are made by this group "miuiports.edunil.com" and have test videos on the "ashish technical services" channel on youtube

have you ‎tried ‎the Xiaomi.eu port from Tucana ? (this ROM)
or if you tried some others roms, can you tell us your opinions ?

it may just seem like my perception, but I didn't like the performance of the EU port with android 11 but, as it's still in beta, it should improve with the next updates. if you really want to test android 11, I recommend the stable global (Sweet port 12.5.8). I currently have the latest release of the EU port with Android 10 (21.4.22), and the performance is excellent for now.

Hi,

The Port you are referring to, is the Xiaomi EU's or another one?

Thank you

Hello! There are lots of MIUI Whyred ports in miuiports.edunil.com.
I have a question. Is there one concrete version which has the best performance/battery life, etc.?
