1. Unlocking boot loader is simple (also done with my Mi 5S.
2. All my headsets are bluetooth (works perfect).
3. Standard 64 or 128Gb is enough for me.
4. HD screen in combination with new SD835 gives good battery life (don't need QHD screen).
5. Stable EU ROM (I am using also now on Mi 5S) doesn't cause any problems for me.

You will get a lot of phone for your money (my opinion)!

The camera for that price you pay isn't what you get.
The audio is s**t as always the DaC sucks.
Touch sensitive screen, nice gimmick.
The fingerprint is same as regular one.
Screen under light is like watching white sheet of paper from closeup.

I've had multiple android and windows phone devices in the entry range, believe me, xiaomi phones are far from ****** as it seems.
I even saw the famous samsung S6 and S7 Edge lagging, even more than some extreme low budget android phones.
On the bright site, there is plenty of choice between phones

My advice: if you don't like it, try another and maybe not the high end 800euro range
