Xiaomi Mi Home API (or how to read data from sensors and other devices)

Hi there,

is there any API (or any other method) that can be used to ONLY read data from sensors, plugs, etc?
I want to read temperature and humidity, check if plug is on or off,... and display it in custom web app/mobile app that will be in same network as gateway.
