Xiaomi mi2s screen logo freezes (hangs) on startup (after factory reset)

During startup in the reset phase (factory reset) : volume down + start button.
The logo remains hang (freeze) after a factory reset.

The system partition you are booting into may not have a ROM installed.

Flash the most recent build to both system partitions and then reboot it.

I had a bootloop problem last weekend. I fixed it following the steps here

which got me a rather old version of miui (3.6.28). Afterwards I flashed CWM and installed the latest version.
