I've been wanting to feature for a long time and have seen so many conflicting infomation. So kind of want to get this settled since I really love my xiaomi phones.
1. Does any of the Xiaomi phones support tv out (via USB)?
2. Does any of the Xiaomi phones support desktop mode (similiar to samsung dex via USB)?

I've heard no they don't because the connector is USB C 2.0 but then I see this video

that has a BLK Shark 3S doing video out via USB and GSMArena stating the connector is USB C 2.0 (mind you I know could be wrong). If all those specs are correct it seems like a software issue and not a hardware issue.

I'm more looking for a desktop mode for my K40 but still interested in either option?

1. As far as I know there is only one tablet with USB 3 (12.5). All Xiaomi phones have USB 2, therefore no real USB video output. (An alternative below)
2. There was a "PC mode", but officially only for the first fold. This app was unter Android 11 / MIUI 13 also compatible with the USB 2 tablets (via apk installation).

Xiaomi is obviously working on a way to mirror the screen on the PC, the tablets already have such an option in the settings (china version), but I never tested it. In the xiaomi.eu ROM I couldn't find this feature yet.
If you want to have your phone screen via cable on the computer, I recommend an application called scrcpy (https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy), for sound there is sndcpy (https://github.com/rom1v/sndcpy).

I'm definitely familiar with using scrcpy and know it works pretty well, but never heard of the sndcpy one. Desktop mode is really the main feature I think Xiaomi has been missing for way too long and it will be nice to have the feature available to us.
