XIAOMI S10+ Vacuum went for a swim

I purchased a S10+ vacuum. It worked fine for about a month. I setup zones in my house with boundaries and virtual walls etc. Everything worked fine until one day, I found the machine in the bottom of my pool.

I have two problems here. Firstly, how did the machine leave the zone and get through the virtual walls I had setup to get into my pool area? Secondly, how did the unit manage to fall into my pool? It has cliff sensors which are meant to prevent this.

This to me is a double product failure and my local agents are simply walking away from any help or responsibility. I have been left with a drowned vacuum I had for a month. This is completely unacceptable.

I recently installed a retractable pool cover and had my XIAOMI S10+ vacuum running routine cleaning sessions around the patio area. Everything was mapped correctly with zones and virtual walls, and it worked well for weeks. However, one morning I found the vacuum submerged in the pool. Despite the cliff sensors and restricted zones, it somehow made its way over the edge and under the retractable pool cover.

This raises serious concerns about the reliability of both the virtual boundary system and the cliff detection sensors. A vacuum cleaner designed for smart navigation shouldn’t be able to bypass a secured area, especially when a retractable pool cover is in place. Now I’m left with a water-damaged device and no accountability from the support team. This kind of failure is incredibly frustrating.
