Hi Folks,

I have made a NFC Lockscreen Mod for MIUI V5 Samsung Galaxy S3 Only. What this does is allow you to use NFC tags when the lockscreen is on.
Would be good to have feedback from users to let me know how well it works.

Also I have also made init.d support for MIUI V5 stock only. if you use custom kernels this will not be an issue as most custom kernels have init.d support. This is only for the stock kernel only. If anybody wants it just give me a shout.

Also I would like to say thanks to the MIUI team for MIUI V5 for a wonderful rom and in particular using the stock samsung rom build. I have used different version like AOSP and AOKP CM. even though they may be quicker I have found that it still has too many bugs to be a replacement rom. Thats why I am so happy that MIUI team have gone down the route of using the stock sammy rom as the base build.

Enjoy

Feedback is always apreciated, at least for me.
I was wondering what were the bugs that pushed you away from using the AOSP based MIUI for S3. Maybe there's hope to fix them.
Thanks for your honesty.

Hi _polimorph_

The bugs I have experienced on CM AOKP & AOSP are the following

Call Quality is hit and Miss on UK networks. e.g. crackling noises, poor reception. feedback while on calls. tried many different versions of Roms always done a clean install etc etc no matter what rom build i use AOKP/AOSP/CM I'm sure these builds work fine on Nexus phones or any other phone where the company is willing to support people like CM etc etc

Bluetooth issues poor quality in terms of connecting to the car kit and random reboots when using the phone. Fault on CM/AOSP/AOKP

Poor quality camera compared to stock samsung. this is a known issue and most likely will not be resolved as samsung are not forthcoming in terms of providing people like CM the full source code for sammy roms. or providing them the support they need to make a full stable rom.

Recently the Bluetooth issue has just been logged on CM https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-1042

However I do appreciate the CM base rom is in RC currently. These issues may be resolved when it get to the stable release. Only time will tell. This is only based upon my experience on the roms. I do think people Like MIUI and CM are doing a fantastic job and i appreciate all the work they do to provide us a good alternative to sammy. The speed of the CM/AOSP/AOKP roms is fantastic compared to sammy roms, and that is something that I truly want but the issues above stops me from using these builds. Reliability is more important to me than the speed.

Maybe for a lot of people the bluetooth and camera issue is not a problem for them, but as I do a lot of traveling in the car a working bluetooth is essential for me. :)

Which is why I am glad MIUI decided to release V5 based upon the stock sammy build rom. I get the best of both worlds a stable rom and a fantastic User interface.
