So it's arrived.... At last. I'm glad about the design. I think it looks great.

Few disappointments though.
1. Can't change the battery cover
2. It's quite large I hoped for max 4.5"
3. Only black available
4. We have to wait until mid Oct!

But still I have ordered from ibuygou.

Why?
Good spec, good materials used, good price, I'll get used to the size, decent battery. Should be a phone I keep until the next one.

Have you ordered ?

I dont know if I should order ,Debating with my self cause in 2-3 few month when you can order and have it shipped in 3-5 days price will be much lower, So..I dont know + the mi2s 32gb should go down now, by what xiaomi said by like 90$.

Pre ordered mine today. Recently got the mi2s and was impressed with whole package. For the whole cost and shipping it is worth it. I am prepared to wait until October when it ships.

Really looking forward to it and the specs are just right. Really glad you are sony camera on board and 2gb is enough. With miui control over the whole you can curb and manage bad applications.
It would be really nice to see xiaomi sell it globally because the spec vs price is very competitive and very usable.

No point if you already have an mi2s. Especially since you'd most likely have purchased it because of its form factor. The processor bump isn't enough of a justification.

I disagree the mi2s is a great phone but m3 has nfc, Sony sensor (I don't know what mi2s uses) , Yes a newer processor but 64gb disk space is useful. Given the price as well it's a no brainer-at least for me.

The mi2s spec wise for processor and ram is more than enough but even the 32gb version had space issues with the space available for apps. To the extent I've repartition it to give me 8gb. I am hoping the m3 doesn't suffer this limit.

I currently own a note 2 so the form factor is actually a little too small :)

I think the killer for the m3 might be the battery as it looks like a sealed unit so power will be an issue as I usually like a spare battery or battery pack.

Yepp, the battery might be the bottleneck, because it has to drive a much bigger screen and much stronger cpu. I wouldn't expect much longer battery life than a Mi2 has with a 2000 mAh battery (which is personally not enough for me). The specs are awesome though, and I would definitely buy one if it had replaceable battery. I'm really looking forward to hear your experiences, guys.

Well its not entirely off the table just yet if the battery is replaceable or not right?
No source stated anything about it yet did they?

As for me I'm still pending between MI3 and S4 + MIUI... the S4 might be the overall better deal and Xiaomi even said they would deliver official support for it sometime soon.

Sadly though I think that even the HTC One might be a better deal here for the buck... and it has a unofficial but very well working MIUIv5 build... the only selling point for MI3 would be official 5 inch support, which sadly weights very much for me, adding to my confusion on which device to waste my money on.

The MI3 though won't work for me if the battery is non replaceable, I know how energy hungry bigger screens are and no matter the optimization on the CPU they can't fill the 60% the screen is consuming, no optimization leads that far...

The bigger battery is there for a reason, and that reason probably is to not look worse than its predecessor in terms of battery runtime.
It sure isn't there to buy you an extra hour of battery life on top or something.

I'm sorry but NFC is useless. Not a reason to get the device. Also the camera and processed are only a slight bump up.

The mi3 is for those who didn't buy xiaomis other devices due to their size.

Probably the mi3s should one get released might fix make it more viable for you?

The potential killer for me will be the battery as I have always had battery extenders or a spare battery. I do have an extender for my note 2 but it is just too big and I also have the 9300mah lemon battery for this. Either way xiaomi need to bring out something like the equivalent of a mophi case to offer this as the extended battery on the mi2s was a good selling point for me.

I would immediately buy a zero lemon for my MI2 if they released one.

NFC isn't useless. It's a technology that hasn't seen mainstream support as yet. Companies like Sony have it in all their electronic devices. No doubt other companies will follow.

Where do I use NFC ?
Getting in the car - set media audio to high, set text to be broadcasted.
Bed time - set silent mode
At work - set to meeting mode

Admittedly I barely use it but with apps like tasker and others like it. We have plenty of opportunity to take further advantage. There s plenty more you can do.

When using my mi2s I miss the added functionality.

Xiaomi is shipping devices only within China.. ibuygou is reseller who ships Xiaomi devices worldwide... :)

Ooh this post is very quiet. Does that mean most of us are sticking with the mi2?

I choose mi3 as well. Just wait for another complete review

you just have to specify color in order description..

ibuygou for preorder only have silver and black

There are 2 defaulted colors currently available: Black or Silver. Another 4 colors are coming soon: White, blue, pink and yellow.

I just ordered the 64GB model and requested either blue or yellow. I am hoping they don't send me black or silver, but I'll manage if they do. I haven't used MIUI since I upgraded from my original DROID when I flashed a modified Moto Milestone MIUI rom. Since then I was using iOS and I'm excited to rejoin the MIUI community :)

Its only me thing that 64GB is overprice that 16GB version? Almost 70usd is way to much. To bad i already use 10GB on my current phone (Xperia S)

Compared to the fruit phones (Apple) I've bought the past 3 years the 64GB version is excellent value.

I bought the 64gb after I bought the 16gb, it s good value. Look... It's not really but it's value will hold and you can't expand the 16. We all know how much a 64gb card costs! :)
