Hello, folks. I have just received Redmi 3 PRO from China, Android version 5.1.1 (LMY47V), and MIUI global 7.2 (7.2.7.0.0). Lowest volume level for ringtone and notifications is too high. I would like to describe it with volume circle: when playing music, volume increments are 1/16 of the circle, and increments for ringtone and notifications are 1/8 of the circle. So, lowest volume level for ringtone, alarm etc is higher then for playing music.
This is annoying because I want to use alarm with lowest level of volume and it is still high, it can wake up my baby daughter. Thanks in advance.

May be you should try an official ROM, as there is no official Global ROM until now.
So Chinese/English to try if the increments are better in this.
My ROM is a 6.5.12 and has 1/7 incements...

Thank you so much. Maybe it is better to wait for official global ROM? If I somehow manage to change ROM to latest eu ROM found on this website, is it going to support OTA official updates? I am little bit confused between official global ROM and eu ROM.

This happens also in eu roms and official roms. Your rom may or may not be official, there are rumors saying that Xiaomi is selling eu versions of R3 with an official but not public global rom.

I have installed EU ROM 7.3.1.0 and still there are 7 steps of volume adjustment. Maybe it bothers only me?

Hi. I agree with you, I also find that the lower volume is too low. Also for the alarms.
A workaround would be to change the alarms and notifications files with custom mp3 with lower volume.

Right, right. But it is really something that should come out of the box. Not everyone can flash ROMs and neither has time for that. Thanks.

Finally something about this issue!

I have the very same problem, I have tried both the stable and the weekly version and it is the same.
I found that there is actually no setting for the notification sounds, only for the ringtone, alarm and media. So I guess the problem is that there's no gui for changing this volume apparently.

It is the same for scheduled DND. If you go to settings, you will not find this, but if you long press the status bar, it will take you to this and you can also find this by searching in the settings. But no button in the place where you'd expect it.
