Redmi 3s With Lte B20 800mhz

Hello folks, I've been following several guides from xda-developers with no success. I followed the steps to unlock all bands, yet I'm not able to get 4G on my country networks, I need to have enabled Band 4 AWS and Band 28, and enable WCDMA/GSM/LTE.

Anyone had progress with this?

Does the xiaomi.eu ROM for redmi 3s work with this "b20 redmi 3s" ?
I can confirm, that b20 works well on xiaomi.eu rom (Provider is Drillisch/o2 Germany, only B20 available in my rural location). Got mine (32/3 Version) from geekbuying for little money. Upgraded from normal 16GB Redmi3.

I am not allowed to post links, so check this screenshot manually, delete space before the dot:

Danke sehr/Thank you for this confirmation ! I bought Redmi Note 3 SE for myself but I was waiting for xiaomi.eu ROM on the Redmi 3s because I'm gonna buy it for a friend.

So in addition to unlocking bands with Qualcomm tools you need to change SO (kernel) also?

I try to open bands in my 3s 3/32gb but not work ..

I use a weekly rom xiaomi.eu

Be careful, I was asking if the xiaomi.eu ROM was working on a Redmi 3s special edition. This model is made for Hong Kong market and have B20. See there : http://www.mi.com/hk/redmi3s/specs/

Normal Redmi 3s don't have B20, and you won't be unable to unlock it with the xiaomi.eu ROM...

Has someone managed to unlock B20 on Redmi 3S ?
If someone has the Taiwan / international version (with B20 officially supported) can you upload the modem file ?
Maybe flashing the modem with adb / fastboot would work.
Thanks

I apologize if I'm being ignorant, I need to enable band 4 AWS and band 28 for having 4G in my country. I have already modified values with Qualcomm tools and, as you also experienced, nothing changed. This could be kernel but I've also read that even if the modem have capabilities maybe Xiaomi didn't connect the necessary ports to make other bands work, this would be via hardware or is it the kernel modem file? Is there hope? Can we do something to get kernel released sooner?

Don't know where the lock comes from, but i'm certain we will unlock it in the future.
For kernel sources, i am afraid that we have to patiently wait till Xiaomi wants to release sources...
They release sources for every phones, so it will happen hopefully.

I tried to disable lte bands lock to CN carriers by patching modem partition. Could you try and check it? yadi . sk/d/zzy6944Uwgoao (remove spaces)
Bands should be already enabled in #6828 and #6829 items.

I am interested in the R3S B20 version. I was wondering if you experience the issue many users of the "normal" R3S have, where they only get 2G connectivity if they use a single SIM only.

I replaced all carriers preset files by ROW (Rest Of World) preset. Hope bands now limited only by NV settings (#6828 and #6829). I flashed this modem to my phone (via TWRP). It's safe. But my carrier has only B7 band and I can't check if something changed.

@radmir have you followed a guide or how did you edit that file? Also, have you backed up the file before replacing (i guess), how did you do that? I might try it this afternoon.

Modem is just FAT16 partition with some binary files. You can mount it and do whatever you want.

I've installed your patch trough TWRP, I see no changes, any information I could provide to help?

I'm very sorry, I'm a noob and it's still not very clear to me if it's a good idea to buy a so called 'Official International Version' as linked in the original post. I require B20 for 4G to work in my country. Is this really an official ROM or is this some kind of unsafe reseller ROM? Is it safe to update this so called 'Official International Version' without losing the B20 support? I don't really want to unlock bootloader. I'm extremely confused right now :D.

i flash the patch.. and now i dont soud in mi headphone :( no voice o mic when call or call me :( please help me.. i do a wipes and do a factory reset, also try to change de rom but still not sound :(

I own an official international R3S bought at geekbuying.com. It supports B20 out of the box and comes with a ROM which lacks some languages. You can easily update it to official global stable ROM without unlocking the bootloader.
