Updating Mi4s To Nougat

Done, TWRP asks me if i want to keep read only or modify partition. Which one should I choose?

Hi community!!! Sorry for my english... I updated my phone to 7.2.9 and unlock the bootloader.

I installed trwp for mi4c because the twrp for mi4s doesn't work. Actually I updated to 7.2.13 and I found some issues that I talk with you.

The battery goes down quickly, and the clock app crashes all time, I don't change alarms. Anyone have the same problems? Its possible install the clock apk?

Thanks for your feedback and I hope that the developers team can fix these problems in the next version.

Update to Android 7, Xiaomi.eu directions
When installing android 7 not only closes the bootloader, but you run out of twrp.
Steps to follow:
- ask Xiaomi for permission to open the bootloader, it is not worth another way.
- install by update the ROM
- when you have the permission of Xiaomi, download miunlock and open the bootloader.
- download twrp https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByP6S_Z3vDjWY1hhdFhfdnhvVVU/view
- you have to install it by ADB

ADB Xiaomi
ADB Commands:
Fastboot flash recovery recovery-TWRP-3030.img
Fastboot boot recovery-TWRP-3030.img

Hi, it's still necessary to do all this steps? in case the answer is yes, how do i ask for permisions to unlock the bootloader, because i have it already unlocked, even when i try to do the unlock with the MiFlashUnlock it says that "there is no need to unlock this device".
For what i remember to unlock the bootloader you have to wait 2 weeks or more untill they give you permisions to unlock it, but the phone is usable, so, if i install the last Rom 7.3.16 from xiaomi.eu my phone will be ok but i will not be able to update the phone with the next weekly because i will not have the bootloader unlocked. Am i right?

If it tells you that it is not necessary to unlock it is because you already have it done. Go to the next step.

You can also know if you have the bootloader unlocked with the following ADB command.
Put your phone in fastboot mode and run ADB Commands:
Fastboot oem device-info.
There is a line to put yes or not

Hi there .

I have android 5.1.1 LMY47V and MIUI 8.1.4.0 (LAJCNDI) installed on my mi4s.

Is there any time version stable updated both?

Hi All

can you please advise solution for this issue.
I have followed steps from post19 and got stuck on Mi Logo screen after installing new TWRP (twrp-3.1.1-1-aqua). Phone won't boot into TWRP or into system I can boot into "fastboot" and issue commands. I restored my previous TWRP version 3.0.2 which gives me access back to phone's file system and install options. However I can't pogress with installation or boot into new 7.0 version (xiaomi.eu_multi_MI4s_V8.5.2.0.NAJCNED_v8-7.0). My bootloader is unlocked, what am I am missing? Please advise

Thank you for your answer. I have tried it too. I think I must be missing a step or I am doing something wrong.
Current status is, I restored 5.1 version, I i did factory reset, installed clean 5.1 (MIUI 8.2) and restored TWRP backup so I have my phone working again. Ready to try again but want to be sure I have all steps righ. So if you don't mind can you please review and correct my steps below
1. Boot to my current working TWRP (3.0.2-X by BY-XM)
2. Install xiaomi.eu_multi_MI4s_V8.5.2.0.NAJCNED_v8-7.0 , clear Cache” / “Dalvik cache”.
3. Not reboot into system
4. Install new recovery, question is which one??? (should be a version for new Android 7.0 I assume)
5. Once installed reboot into that new recovery (that never worked for me all I was getting was MI white logo)
6. Reboot into system
So mistake I make is step 4 or I am missing a step.
Bootloader is unlocked for sure
Thanks for support

Hi Santigt

So your suggestion is to install TWRP 3.0.3 from a link in Post41 and then use it to flash "xiaomi.eu_multi_MI4s_V8.5.2.0.NAJCNED_v8-7.0" ?
You said in the same post that TWRP 3.0.2 is only for MIUI 8.0 but I have now MIUI v8.2 (android 5.1) and TWRP version "3.0.2-X by BY-XM" which is all working ok.

Regards,
Witek

3.0.2.0 is only for miu 8... Do you like it that way.
I mean it does not serve for later ROMs with Android 7.

that's fine if 3.0.2.0 is only for 5.1 (MIUI 8). I just want to get an answer which steps I did wrong from the above list that I ended with a Mi Logo screen.
I think I am missing an answer for a question: when new TWRP which is "designed" for version 7.0 should be installed.

I've already put two different twrp that me and more people worked, changing the text adb fastboot lines.

I know, thank you, but still no answer at which step this new TWRP should be flashed.
So there are 2 from your links: "twrp_Mi4s_7_greatslon" and "twrp_aqua_7.0.zip"
What you meant by: "changing the text adb fastboot lines."
